International-mindedness
Our global community is becoming ever more interdependent on cross-cultural relationships, respect for differences and the need to recognize the growing dynamics that modern technologies and communications are creating. Thus, the IBO has shaped itself upon the basic premise that the other - for example, that person sitting across from you, the young lady or young man debating a different persepctive, a group promoting an alternative land-use policy - "can also be right" and that they, equally, have the right to be listened to and considered.
The PYP, along with the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP), strive to model those qualities and attitudes students will need to meet the growing challenges of a smaller and more sensitive global community; to nurture and develop skills where relationship-building is paramount to success.
